Holt Youth help at The Big Bike Ride – Colehill
Everyone locally is aware of the plans for The Reef next to St Michaels School – and that it needs to be updated and converted to be of greater use to the youth of the area. To do this they must raise in the region of £340,000!!
You will all have seen the leaflets around with the Colehill Parish Council doing a 10 & 25 mile bike ride on Sunday 10th July centered around Colehill 1st School.
The ride was a success – and then all involved headed back to the school to raise further funds in a summer fayre. Holt were invited during the week to do something, and given the support we received when Colehill Parish kindly donated towards our new pitch – we came running.
Literally though, as we had to get from the friendly in the morning – get lunch and then carry up a goal ready for action.
Joe Till went in goal (hoping that the weeks of Neil Moss and Robbie Yates would make a difference) as the prize was £5 cash to anyone that could score 3 in a row past him! Parental pressure, one could argue……
50p Got each player 3 attempts – and if one went in – they got a sugar free Dumstick lolly pop.
Everyone`s a winner – and we raised a few £ for the cause. Pity we couldn`t have been there earlier.
My highlight being Councillor KD Johnson striking a comfortable brown Hush Puppy like no other into the top corner!
