About Us

HUYFC was formed in 2006 by a group of parents of children from Colehill, Wimborne. The club affiliated itself to the Dorset FA, started holding friendly matches against local clubs and children from other local communities soon joined. With the boys wanting to play league football in 2008, we joined the Dorset Mini Soccer U10′s League, in which we finished in 3rd place, a great achievement.

In preparation for 11 aside football (2009-10 season), we had to create a new ¾ size pitch and car parking facilities. A huge internal effort, with parents working together in true community spirit fashion, supported by grants and sponsorship from local businesses, has seen the realization of the best youth football pitch in Dorset.

Starting 11 aside football in the 2nd Division of the Dorset Youth Football League, the boys and coaches worked very hard to finish runners up in the division and secure promotion to Division 1 for the 2010-11 season, playing against many of the best sides in Dorset.  We fought hard and secured our place in the top Divison again for 2011-12 – and look forward to the new challenge of the coming season!

We are constantly looking to strengthen our squad – so do get in touch by email to Chris Till on chris_till@btinternet.com NOW!

After months of voluntary hard work by members of our committee, we attained the FA Charter Standard Status in January 2010, of which we are very proud.  The FA Charter Standard Scheme is a best practice guide that sets standards of coaching, administration and child protection for all clubs outside the Football League and Premier League. This accreditation demonstrates that we operate all aspects of the club to the highest level possible.
